What people are saying

“Straight from the soulful swagger of San Francisco, the band offer classic funk and soul with an added flicker of pop-songwriting; fit to fill the boots of any of history’s funkiest live bands.” - Stereo Stickman (https://stereostickman.com/music/the-fell-swoop-magick-thing/)

“Guitars funk furiously, saxophones seduce, the beat pops and grooves in interesting and intricate ways but more than anything the music initially bypasses the listeners head and even their heart and aims straight for the dance shoes before working its way up the body.” - Dave Franklin - Dancing About Architecture (https://dancingaboutarchitecture.info/2018/05/25/magick-thing-the-fell-swoop-reviewed-by-dave-franklin/)

The Fell Swoop

With members hailing from all corners of the country, The Fell Swoop’s unique blend of retro soul, funk, yacht rock, and west coast pop has been been a stable of the Bay Area music scene for the last half decade. The San Francisco based big-band draws inspiration from the city, the coast and the undying pulse of a sweaty, live audience!

When not playing traditional venues, the band is often found busking on the streets of SF. Powered by battery amps and a suitcase drum kit, they've been known to create dance parties right on the sidewalks of the Mission district.

The band took their music on the road to 2018's SXSW festival in Austin, Released 4 singles in 2019, and released its first full length album, Swoopstakes, in 2022.
